How to Use It -

Start by gathering small kindling. Anything from paper, to leaves, to pine needles, to very small sticks should work - just place these into a small pile to start. Then, use the concave-end of the scraper to shave the magnesium stick and disperse shavings around your kindling pile. Once you're ready to light your fire, strike the magnesium stick forcefully with the steel ruler, and sparks should start to fly. The magnesium stick comes in three different sizes and two different handle shapes: conical and cylindrical. The steel striker comes has an embedded ruler, bottle opener, and one-sized wrench. Both pieces are held together with a nylon strap. Magnesium strip length options: 4.4 in (11.2 cm), 4.5 in (11.5) cm, and 4.7 in (11.8 cm). Width = 0.9 in (2.3 cm).
